For this Ableton Live video tutorial we focus on the many ways you can quickly edit and manipulate a stock drum loop and turn it into something unique and interesting.
Using techniques such as ‘Slice to MIDI’, ‘Midi Mapping’ and the ‘Beat Repeat’ effect, you can very easily re-sequence a drum groove to suite the style of your song. We also use pitch modulation, filter sweep and saturation to drastically enhance a stock drum loop.
We took a high quality acoustic drum loop from the Ska Guitars V1 loop pack and mashed it up using the techniques mentioned above to create a totally different sound.
