Logic's ES1 is pretty powerful if you know what your doing. Get the jump on this great built-in synth by watching this video tutorial. We show you how to create a nasty Dubstep Wobble Bass synth but it works just as well in many forms of electronic music such as house.
Logic Pro has a really cool autofilter that gives you instant results that are very customizable as you'll see in this video.
You could use the same techniques in most DAW's as they almost all ship with a decent autofilter of some kind.
We used these techniques to create our Dubstep Samples and Complextro Loops.
